| COUNTER CURRENT PACKED TOWER |
| |
- Principles of Operation
- Packed bed provides extremely large amount of surface area for intimate contact between the contaminated gas and the scrubbing liquid
- Counter current flow (downward flowing liquid vs. upward flowing gas) produces optimum driving force for mass transfer of the toxic contaminant from the gas to the liquid. Clean discharge gas contacts least contaminated liquid.
|
 |
- Typical Operating Parameters
- Liquid/Gas Ratio = 1.5 - 5 /1 (by mass)
- Gas Velocity = 2 - 8 ft./sec.
- Gas Side Pressure Drop = 0.1 - 0.4” w.c./ft. of bed
- Liquid Stream Pressure Drop = 3 - 10 psi
