The steam surface condenser is a vital component in both traditional coal-fired power plants and modern cogeneration and combined cycle power plants. Mazda designs and builds economically sized condensers, suitable for turbine ratings under 25 MW, ensuring a compact circular configuration for easy shipping without compromising on quality. All of Mazda's condensers are designed and built to Heat Exchange Institute Standards, with a commitment to meeting all client-specific project requirements.

Our condenser designs can incorporate enhanced deaeration systems and various turbine exhaust options, significantly improving plant layouts where space is a premium. Mazda condensers feature high overall heat transfer coefficients, leading to smaller heat transfer areas and optimal space utilization, along with extremely low oxygen concentrations in the condensate. They are built to withstand turbine and steam generator overloads and variations in cooling water temperature throughout the year. Fabrication takes place in our state-of-the-art in-house facilities in Ahmedabad, adhering to ASME code and upholding an impeccable reputation for quality fabrication and on-time delivery.

An effective steam condenser design considers numerous performance variables, including the configuration of the exhaust flow, the moisture content of incoming steam, and the design of the transition piece for uniform steam distribution over the tube bundle. Shell design parameters provide maximum support to the tube bundle without impacting pressure drop. Key to maximizing performance efficiencies are tube sheet design considerations that enhance steam flow over and through the tube bundle, optimizing tube layout geometries, maximizing available surface area, managing destructive velocities, minimizing pressure drop, effectively removing non-condensable gases, and reducing sub-cooling potential. The condenser’s primary function is to condense the exhaust steam from a steam turbine into liquid water (condensate), allowing the steam to be recycled back to the boiler and maintaining a low back pressure on the turbine to maximize its efficiency.
